What electrical power can a turbine provide? The main variant we have worked out is a 250 kW turbine in a modular container design (usually located in a 40-foot standard container for sea transport), containing all the equipment necessary for the operation of the power unit (heat exchangers, piping, pump, turbine, electric generator, control and switching device) ... No special structures and foundations are required.

           

The thermal power required for the turbine is 250 kW and the efficiency of the process is 35,000 btu = 10 kW of thermal power per 1 kW of electrical power at a coolant temperature of at least 100 ° C, that is, about 2500 kW of thermal power to provide 250 kW of the turbine. At the same time, about 500 kW of thermal power is irretrievably used. The rest of the heat leaving the heat exchanger can be used for heat supply.

 

Temperature Range:

Typically, waste heat is disposed of with thermal (eg transformer) oil, water or glycol. Our system is capable of using incoming heat in a temperature range of 70 to 120 ° C. If the temperature is less than 100 ° C, then the heat flux must be at least 42,000 BTU / kWe. The level of heat transfer increases with increasing temperature. Our standard working fluid is an organic liquid of the R 245fa type (Genetron system), which operates in the range from 80 to 120 ° C. The efficiency of such a system is 8 - 11%. The total thermal and electrical efficiency is about 85-95%.

Incoming liquid: using water, glycol or thermal oil, a fluid flow rate of 11.4 l/min must be ensured. per 1 kW installed. That is, a 250 kW unit needs about 2140 l/min. The temperature difference between the liquid entering and leaving the evaporator will be 15-20 ° C.                                                                               Liquid condenser: The standard system uses a water cooled condenser. The temperature difference between the water entering and leaving the condenser is 10 °C.

                                                                                                                HOW IT WORKS?

  • The organic working fluid is converted to vapor in the evaporator using the heat flow in the primary heat exchanger. The working fluid passes through the turbine, providing the necessary torque to drive the generator, and then condenses with the help of a stream of water in the heat exchanger (alternatively, atmospheric air can also be used for cooling). The condensate is forced back into the evaporator, thus completing the thermodynamic cycle. Heat and cooling sources do not come into direct contact with the working fluid and with the turbine.

  • To exploit high temperatures, for example, while generating electricity and heat in biomass boilers, high temperature transformer oil can be used as a heat carrier, and a reversible heat exchanger can be added to further increase productivity.

                                                      WARRANTY, PERIOD OF OPERATION BEFORE OVERALL REPAIR:

  • The service life before overhaul is 10 years. The warranty period is 2 years.

Working fluid type.

  • At temperatures above 170 ° C, ethylene glycol is used.

  • At temperatures from 70 to 150 ° C, an analogue of R245fa or 134a freon is used - at the discretion of the customer.

  • Water, steam, transformer oil can be used as a heat carrier.
